Does knowing how to ski give you an advantage snowboarding for the first time? I am going snowboarding this weekend and am afraid I will suck really bad, although I do have about 6 ...show more

There is hope, being a skier you understand the mountain, chairlift, snow types, what to avoid, you will know that stuff when snowboarding. You also understand the rules of the slopes. You will suck when you first start but everyone does so don't be embarrassed. You will get the hang of it soon enough! Good Luck!

you are lucky that you are familiar with the snow and what goes on while skiing so in that case it will be the same but actually physically snowboarding will be a complete change... be prepared to fall!
