im just curious how snowboards are made. i heard different companies have different methods in making one. i have googled how its made but i couldnt find much. does anyone have a ...show more

I saw snowboards on "how it's made" once on the discovery channel and i think it was actually at the burton factory. It's not too complicated. Basically a machine cuts pieces of wood and metal into the shape of a snowboard and then compresses them all together and holes are drilled for the bindings. Then like a million coats of laquer are put on it and then the little metal things for the bindings are screwed in and that's basically it.

What a joke that how it's made episode was! They didn't even mention issues such as SIDECUT, camber, etc. They didn't even mention or show the steel edge!
