Do i need snowboarding goggles if im going snowboarding for the first time?

im going snowboarding for the first time and i need to know if i need to buy goggles or not and if i do where can i get good quality, cheap ones?

unless you're going turtle pace and don't plan on falling down, sunglasses ae NOT a good idea. goggles are probably a safe bet, only because when you fall, it keeps snow off your face, and it helps complete a smooth boundary around your face with the lip of your helmet. it'll also help keep the wind out of your eyes- vey helpful if you end up bombing the hill (by accident, or on purpose, we've all done it :P ) good quality, cheap ones, can be found anywhere that they sell general sports equiptment. I know, personally, in Canada, we have sportchek, national sports, and sport mart as general sports equipment stores, and they all sell cheap goggles.

no you dont need them for your first time because you'll likely be going very slowly but as you progress you will need them because of the wind and bits of ice that fly up when you're carving
