well, there isn't an exact time but to make them break faster, walk around the house in them (use bladeguards) they will break faster. also, since you only skate 1 hour a week, you will need to sharpen them a lot less than a skater who skates 2 hours 6 days a week. i think maybe every 3 mo. but thats just an estimate. you can feel when they are dull because your blade will slip off of the ice. to take care of your blades so they dont get dull too fast, make sure you dry them and put soakers on them after you are done skating. when you get home, take them out of your skating bag and remove the insoles in the boot and let the skates/insoles sit outside the skating bag. this will get rid of any extra moisture which will loosen the screws on your skates and therefore make your blade loose and ajar. not to mention dull.
oh my!
um theres actually a really cool feature on this model that allows you to customize your skate to your foot.this skate has thermic plastic so heres what you do:# Preheat warming oven to 200 degrees F. # Place open boots in oven for 8 minutes. # Remove boots from oven and flex back counters open. # Place on skater’s foot and tie boots extra snug. # Leave skates on skater for 5 minutes. # Remove skates from skater’s feet, allow skater to relax their feet, replace skates on skater using normal lacing pressure, and leave on skater for 2 minutes. # If a specific problem exists, remove skates; heat problem area with heat gun, adjust with boot press as needed. # Re-fit skates using normal lacing pressure. i have the same model and it worked perfectly for me. i didn't even have to break the skates in. i hope this helps!!!!

It will take you maybe a month or so to break them in. What I always to when I get new skates is I put them on at home with the guards on and walk around in them. It helps to break them in a lot. So that will help you break them in much faster. I am pretty sure you are suposed to sharpen your skates every 12 hours you skate. As long as you wear your skate guards around the rink when you aren't skating and dry them off really well you can go quite awhile in between sharpenings. Hope that helps.

Ur supposed to get ur skates sharpened every 15-20hrs of skating. Do u have the Riedell Blue Ribbon??? that's the one i have!!! i've been skating for 4 months now and I think I need more advanced skates.... I skate about 7-10hrs/week, and I need more comfortable boots, lately I haven't been skating comfortably, like I used to. I need the freestyle blades too, mine are just like... not working for me anymore. I am not sure how long it will take u to break into your skates.... probably like, 1 yr if you keep skating 1hr/week??!!! I am not sure...

it usually takes like a min. of 10 hours to break into skates. you usually need to sharpen them after 8-10 hours of skating in them.

Breaking in skates takes different lengths of time for every person. I have never personally had Riedell, but I hear they are pretty good to break in. Buy some new skin, and gel socks. I used to sharpen my skates every month or so, depends what level of skating you are at... Good Luck!
