Are there any ski resorts near rosario argentina?

Can you give me good and cheap options for ski resorts? Is early December a good time to go?

  • This will be my 1st time skiing in North America (I'm from Brazil, we usually go to Chile and Argentina), so I want to be 100% sure I made a good choice. What are the ski ...show more

  • Answer:

In all honesty, February/March is the best time for skiing in N America. That's when the most snow falls. But if December is the only time you can come and money is an issue, I agree with the above suggestions for Crested Butte, Colorado. Free skiing the first few weeks of the season, usually from November through mid-December or so. Keep in mind that unless there are early season storms, the conditions may not be great at that time of year. It's kind of a crapshoot that time of year. But if snow conditions are more important than money, the Salt Lake City, Utah resorts are probably a good bet. Snowbird, Park City, Alta, etc. Lake Tahoe area is probably fine too at that time of year--Squaw Valley, Heavenly, etc. Above all else, definitely go WEST! Don't bother with New England that time of year. Stay in the Rocky Mtns!!! :) Have fun!

I agree with the guy right above me. Anywhere in the West should be fine by early December... I live and ski in Utah, and can almost guarantee that Alta/Snowbird/Solitude will be in decent shape, as well as Powder and Snowbasin. Outside of Utah, any resort in Colorado, Jackson Hole in Wyoming, Lake Tahoe (California) areas such as Heavenly, Squaw, and Alpine Meadows would probably fit the bill. There are lots of other places too. If you like a party atmosphere, you might want to consider Whistler/Blackcomb, in British Columbia. If snow is more important than partying, then I have to recommend Utah. I have skied all over North America (literally), and find the stuff in Utah to consistently have the best snow quality, and the terrain, to rip it up. Alta is my all-time favorite...Snowbird a close 3rd, with Jackson Hole being as good as, or better than, Alta. Except you are in the middle of nowhere!! Keep in mind that snow conditions do depend on the weather, so try to visit the websites of the places you want to go, to get an idea on the opening days. Once our areas are open, often times 80-90% of the mountain is open due to early season dumps.

Who will be open in early December? Most resorts will probably be open. Most shoot for mid November. Arapahoe Basin and Loveland are always competeing to be the first of the season. Nearby is Copper, Keystone, Vail and Breckenridge. In Utah you can count on Snowbird, Alta and Powder Mountain for early openings. Is early December a good time to go? Anytime you can get in a few turns it's a good time, but it will definetly be less crowded but less of the mountain will be open during this time. Personally I love late January for tons of fresh snow and late March for spring conditions. What other parameters do you have? Check skinet.com for resort info. www.snowshark.org

The eastern resorts may or may not be open yet in early December. Same can be said for the big western resorts of the rockies. Best bet might be the North Lake Tahoe area. They often begin the season in early November, but, like any ski destination, you pay your money and take your chance. I mostly ski the eastern resorts of Vermont, and sometimes the season doesnt start until February, sometimes the best snow of the year is before Christmas. To be a skier you have to be flexible!

Crested Butte Colorado offers free skiing from opening in November until mid December.

In early December, most resorts will be open, but only a very small percentage of the runs will be open. Loveland pass and A-Basin would be your best bet that early in the season.

Too broad of a question. Where do you live. Mammoth in calif. is good but not cheap. So. Cal. is Snow Summit in Big Bear.
