What would be the first basic steps to start a bench advertising business?

  Do you think home owners would agree to let you freely advertise on their property? I see a problem here as owners will not sign a contract to lend you free space. Every business needs a license. Then you approach prospective customers and convince them that your bench advertising will bring them more business. You show them great pictures of ads. This could be on your lap top. You try to convince them with demographics. How many people pass by, who are they, why would they read what's on your bench and so on - It is not really possible to comment on the feasibility of your particular bench ads since you did not give info. but as a rule of thumb, to be successful, ads must be seen by an uncountable number of passersby. You will be competing against photography, mags, transit, billboards, radio and more I'm sure. I have only seen this type of ads on major city streets near bus stops where circulation is non-stop through out the day. So be prepared to cite the advantages of bench ads on private property. Note: A contract from the space owner ensures that your ads won't be thrown out within a few days - when your client already has signed his own contract for a a longer period.
