Can i read books on my MacBook like you can with the new iPad?

Is it worth buying an iPad to read PDF books on?

  • I have a Kindle Fire HD that i buy books for, i buy some paperbacks for certain reasons and recently i tried Calibre to convert PDF books to Mobi for use on the Kindle Fire HD but the output is messy. I have a desktop but don't want to sit for hours in front of it to read the PDF's. So I'm asking is it worth buying an iPad for reading PDF books, would the iPad Mini be too small for this? Obviously i understand that the iPad would provide plenty of other use, but as a PDF reader is it worth it and is the experience of reading them on the iPad good/comfy?

  • Answer:

Yeah, Kindle Fire HD also supports PDF files, you may find some ways to read PDFs. http://google.about.com/od/kindlefire/a/How-To-Put-Non-Amazon-Books-On-Your-Kindle-Fire.htm is about how to load Non-Amazon books on your Kindle Fire, hope it helps. Good Luck.

Other answers

Well, with its excellent screen, long battery life and light weight, I'm sure reading PDFs on an iPad would be great, but if you already have a Kindle Fire HD, I'm sure you can find an app to read PDFs directly on the Amazon appstore.
