Canada does not have an education system. Each province takes care of it's own education, and all are different. Compared to the rest of the world, Canada does quite well. Possibly not the best, but near the top for all the provinces. It is free for kindergarten to finishing high/secondary school (generally ages 5-18), and in some places, free for those going beyond that. All in all, it is not bad.

Canada's edu system, just like America's has been watered down. It also depends on which province you are in, some are better than others. Honestly, though it really depends from school to school, regardless of which country you're in.

I've had children in the UK school system, and also in the Canadian system and I would have to say the Canadian system is better, but it does vary province to province and also on the region where you live, ie rural schools seem to perform better than inner city ones. The only issue I have with Canadian schools is they seem to take ages to identify special needs ( learning difficulties etc ) , and then take an equally long time to fix it - normally due to the lack of specialists.

in comparison with the US, Canada has a fantastic education system, way better. comparing with the UK it's kind of similar, awful education unless you pay for private or live in very particular school districts. compared with Ireland, it's in the toilet, Irish kids get private level education in public schools, Canadian schools are barely more than baby-sitting services. Harper needs to spend tax money on what tax payers want, education. Canadian teachers need to start actually teaching and stop coasting to a pension. I think 20 lashes each per year should get them off to a good start.
