What does it take to become a preschool teacher?

  • What does it take to become a teacher or worker at a nursery or a preschool?? please if you know can you explain in details! 10 points to be rewarded as soon as possible!

  • Answer:

I currently work in NC for a state-run preschool program. A lead teacher must have a B-K licensure or an AAS and be working toward the B-K. An assistant teacher must have an AAS or at least credentials in Early Childhood Education and be working toward an AAS. Private daycare centers often just need a high school diploma but they will have to do a criminal background check, fingerprints and will most likely ask for references.

I used to work in a Christian preschool/academy. I was a teachers assistant and didn't need a degree or what have you. Some of the lead teachers that worked in the preschool didn't necessarily have degrees either, but they did have previous experience. And from experience, applying to other preschools, they either want you to have a degree or are in the process of getting a degree. AND you have to pass a background check, fingerprinting, physical, and TB testing, and be CPR certified
