What are some nice design examples of train/subway shared stations?

  • I'm interested in both common passenger platform and/or subway interchange.

  • Answer:

    Broadway junction/east new york station.This station is served by the "A' train,the "C" train,the "J" train,the "L"train,and during rush hour,the "Z" train.So you have 2 subway division inter connecting.The A and the C trains are both underground.You have to take a fairly long escalator to get to the trains,or you can take the stairs.The J and the Z are both outside,and the L is on another level.All listed trains go to manhattan.but the A train will get you there the quickest.And if your travels happen to take you to long Island,The atlantic ave station for the Long Island Railroad,is within walking distance from broadway junction!

South Station, Boston has a subway (Red Line), a dedicated busway (Silver Line), Commuter Rail, Amtrak, and buses all in one facility. The station itself is lovely. Philadelphia 30th street Station is another.

Just north of Washington DC there's the New Carrollton station. On one side are the tracks that serve Amtrak intercity and MARC commuter rail trains. Walk through a passage and you come to the platforms for the Metrorail subway trains.
