    Railroading isnt for everyone because of the lack of a schedule unless you are lucky and get a yard job. It sounds like to me, it also depends which railroad you work for. My husband has been with his railroad for l8 years. What state are you in? The CN is hiring and they pay really good compared to the other rr. Have you checked into them? ditto. i shoot the breeze with a CN conductor who lives a couple blocks from me. you'll be told straight-forward,that if you cant live by your cell phone,a conductors job isnt for you.
