    Depending on the model, 9-5 or 9-3 which you can check for yourself using Kelly's blue book at: http://www.kbb.com/ As far as reliability, you should definitely get the dealership to throw in a Mechanical warranty. There are other companies that sell mechanical warranty. Check out this company: http://www.usfidelis.com/coverages.html This way you put your mind at ease for at least a year or 2 (or more). Saab cars are known for their longevity. This does not mean that if the car is mistreated, it's going to be trouble free. The biggest problem with Saab nowadays is lack of maintenance. specially on their leased cars.

That averages out at over 21,000 miles per year. So it's had hard use in the last couple of years. If it has a complete service history showing the miles each time it was serviced that would be helpful. As I'm sure you know service costs for Saab can be high and the turbo is something you don't want to die on you, maybe if you got the AAA to do a complete checkup on it (and did a Carfax search - the dealer should give you this) you might be reassured. It's a buyer's market just now, you might be able to shave a couple of $k of that price.....
