I have a pontiac grand prix gt and my key wont come out of the ignition and it wont turn all the way off?? wtf?

Sounds like the ignition switch has worn out or the key has worn out. If it is the key you should be able to play with it until it comes out, then try another key.

Frankly, the key isn't supposed to come out unless it turns all the way off. So you need to get your mind focused on the actual problem. THERE IS A FEATURE in a car (any car) that prevents the ignition from turning all the way off. It's a safety feature. All cars are built so that the ignition cannot turn all the way off unless the shifter is in park, or on a manual transmission car, they'll provide a little button to push. THERE IS A PURPOSE FOR THIS. It is to make it impossible to lock your steering wheel accidentally when you're going down the road. Make sense? So now it's obvious what the problem is - the problem is with the linkage that connects the shifter to the steering column, to tell it that it's okay to lock the steering column. Or, if could possibly be an internal steering column problem.

Try some wd40. And move the steering wheel while trying to extract.Make sure steering column is straight also.some times pulling to far right or left works. If that dont work call a pro.

this has been a problem for some Pontiacs...most likely your going to have to get it towed to the dealership..your first mistake was buying a Pontiac
