On the internet.. how can i block and unblock sites?

    The easiest and most efficient way to block sites globally in your system is to modify the host file. click start -> run, enter "notepad" without the quotes and hit enter. from notepad, click file and open, navigate to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC and open the file named hosts enter the web address that you want to block in this format 127.0.0.1 www.myspace.com ie 127.0.0.1 followed by the web address. save and exit. the website should now be blocked. you can do something similar from your browser but that would be not as hidden as this technique. one another way to block specific address is to enter the web address to be blocked in your routers blocked sites list. you can do this from the routers web interface. follow your routers manual to do this.

you can use NetDog : http://www.netdogsoft.com it's very easy, just add or remove the sites to "Always blocked website list" in NetDogAdmin.exe
