Technically, yes. However, the effort is almost never worth it. Most websites (Yahoo included) keep logs of things called 'IP addresses' that are used to uniquely identify a given source. The problem is that you can have more than one computer per source. For example, I have a computer hooked up to a broadband modem. My modem hooks up to my Internet Service Provider (ISP), and they may hook up to a large central service somewhere, which is actually where I get online. My computer, modem, ISP, and service all have different IP addresses, but Yahoo may only see the one from my ISP, or at best the one from my modem. Well, I can easily have 4 computers hooked up to the same modem. Cybercrime units in state police agencies may request that Yahoo send them copies of their IP logs if they suspect a given user is breaking the law. Because it is very easy to hide your true IP address, however, this approach does not normally produce results. In the case some annoying jerk who insults you in Yahoo! Answers forums, you're probably better off just flagging the response and moving on with life. If they really annoy you, you may want to try and find out what sort of things annoy THEM and start to 'fight fire with fire'--but only when you have no other choice, since this can get you banned from Yahoo! Answers as well. If some user is claiming that they can track you down from your posts on this or some other forum, they're most likely blowing smoke; even if they did manage to locate your computer, they are unlikely to come to your door and try to start something over a nasty post online. This is why people resort to 'flame wars' instead. I hope this helps.

Best you contact with the administrator of the forum to get the details of the person.

Juts click on 'report abuse' on this website and Yahoo will suspend their privileges.

Chances are no. Unless the form registration requires them to enter this information and it is displayed, which it probably is not.
