  • Answer:

varies...how well do you want to play, what ur playing and how much you practice! I play guitar...since 1973 and I'm still learning. In 1999 I started playing bass as well...and I'm still learning. That's part of the fun! It can be a lifelong hobby, or maybe a career.

it depends on how fast you take to piano and how good ur teacher is. If you have learned any instrument before, it would take about a year and a half to play it good. if you havent, about 4 and a half years... thats how long it took me and my brother to learn... but another thing is HOW good is 'good'

depends if u have a musical ear or not. Also, practicing everyday makes the difference! Keep at it and don't give up and within one year you'll play well enough to show off. Not jaw dropping, but everything with music takes practice and patience.

Yeah, u say you're going to practise for an hour a day? no chance. you'll get 4 maybe 5 days a week to practice. piano can be easy and hard for different people. I play by ear, so it's easy for me to pick things up on the piano. Everyone has different ways of learning it. You just got to find the right way. I've been playing piano for 4 years now, and i'm still not that good at it, but i'm persistent and i try my hardest when it comes to playing it. I wish you good luck learning it! P.S, theory work really does help your piano playing, so do some of that while you're learning. Learn your scales, and notes, and chords as well, because it's really helpful.

Your question is impossible to answer by anyone but yourself. The answer depends on you. If you have a good ear and are a natural musician with natural talent, it will take less time for you to become good, so long as you listen to what your teacher instructs you and not fail to practice. You must push yourself and get over those little "humps" of learning. If you imagine music, think musical and challenge yourself, you can become brilliant. I had 10 lessons at the age of 4 years old and have been able to play by ear without music...but I don't play well...just enough to wish I had continued my lessons. So, if your mom and dad are good enough to have you taught, plus you want to be good, then go for it and make the most of it. Have a great time with your piano! =)

Its different for everyone.. everyone had their own pace of learning. I, however, play by ear, and have taught myself to play piano, so.. I'm not too sure actually.. It can take from a few weeks to years.. but remember, you don't have to be perfect or a pro.. everyone has their mistakes and that's ok.. heck, I've been playing by ear for years, yet I can still mess up.. ♥

It's different for everyone. Some people catch on really quickly while others have a little harder time and need to go a little slower. If you want to get good the quickest then practice for more than an hour a day.
