  basically its whatever the people auditioning you want. sometimes they want you to do a cold reading of a specific script, sometimes they will ask for your own, but not often for movies. they will usually just hear you speak a few lines and act it out to see if you are cut out for it. often times it is also recorded on tape. everyone thinks coming to california is the number one place to get into the business. and it is, i guess, but its really really hard. if you live in other cities that are big film societies you have better luck.
