  • Answer:

You can get a flatline / Apex barrel to put backspin on the ball which will allow it to go farther. The downside is, shooting at 300fps it won't break after a certain distance anyways. As the poster above said, you can also look at First Strike paintballs, but they are expensive. I've tried them and they can go almost 500 feet, but I hate the thought of spending that much money every time I press the trigger.

well... snipers are kinda different in paintball compare to snipers in real life. I mean you can do the whole Camo and be the bush, tree, or the wall.. (alittle joke ^^) Like the previous guy said.. if you have a paintball gun already, you can add a APEX barrel or Flatline barrel (Flatline is only for Tippmann paintball guns) and that will increase your firing range and also add some accuracy to your shot. With that advantage you will be able to shoot and hit the other person before they can get within their kill range to shoot at you. All paintball guns have a range that is most effective ( effective as in hitting them and breaking on contact) and having an APEX barrel or Flatline barrel will increase your effective range. **I'd recommend this if you already have a paintball gun or not looking to spend alot of money on a paintball equipment. With the barrel upgrade you will be able to hit someone further away with fewer shots compare to a normal set up that might be out of range or take several more shots to hit the target. That's the ideal sniper player in paintball. (atleast that's my opinion/definition)** BT APEX/APEX2 barrel (scroll down the list to see the APEX 2) http://www.ansgear.com/BT_Barrels_s/278.htm Tippmann Flatline Barrels (Scroll down and you'll see Flatline for all their Tippmann markers) http://www.ansgear.com/Tippmann_Barrels_s/179.htm Now there is a new type of paintball called First Strike, and if you look they look like a bullet (like the old school musket type) they are VERY EXPENSIVE ($40 for 100 rounds!!! you can get 1600~2000 mid range paintballs normally for that price.) http://www.ansgear.com/Tiberius_Arms_Paintballs_s/1467.htm Also you can't use these on normal paintball guns unless you want to start loading them like the old school musket rifles (unscrew the barrel, put a round in and screw it back on then shoot) They require a special feed paintball gun, there is only one company that makes this paintball gun and paintballs, Tiberius. Also, the gun is VERY EXPENSIVE. http://www.ansgear.com/Tiberius_Arms_Paintballs_s/1467.htm http://www.ansgear.com/Tiberius_Arms_T4_First_Strike_Paintball_Rifle_p/tiberiusarmst4.htm None the less Tiberius is VERY accurate, accurate enough for pretty much 1 shot 1 kill kinda accurate and also had a great kill range. (can go out to 90~100 yrds) But as you do the math, it is very expensive if you want the Sniper rifle. (looking to spend $900+ for the gun, and enough rounds for you to enjoy a days' worth of paintball) Sorry for the long answer but hopefully you get the ideal, and good luck!
