What is more important in airsoft, range or FPS?

Whats a good fps for close/medium range in a airsoft battle?

  • i want to get an airsoft gun and the 120fps is not good enough whats good for a battle in small woods or yards?

  • Answer:

anywhere between 280-350 fps, as that gets the bb where it needs to be. I was looking around online and found this might be what you're looking for: http://www.airsplat.com/Categories/AP.htm any of these pistols shoot in the right range. Out of all the sites I've compared, I think Airsplat has the best prices for most of the airsoft stuff out there. I've ordered from them a few times already, and they're really good with shipping and getting things to me on time quickly

It depends on how much you and your buddies want it to hurt. Since there are no limits (because your not playing in a structured OP). The average for "backyard" fights I'd say would be from 300FPS-350FPS, I just recently bought a gun at 420FPS. But that's because I'm shooting rather far distances through the woods. So before you decide what FPS to get, figure out about how far your going to be shooting (don't worry about getting it powerful enough to, say, shoot through branches because there plastic and they never will anyway). Another factor to think about is your price range, say you want to get a 300FPS-350FPS it'll be around (rough estimate) $70-$130 (the reason it's probably higher then your used to (if your new to airsoft) is because I would recommend buying a high quality AEG, because full plastic is going to break if you trip or something, and it'll be a waste of money. Also 120FPS is only going to reach like 20ft., if your lucky. Heres the cut-down: if your in a yard, I'd say 300-350FPS. In the woods would be more like 330FPS-380FPS. Depending on how long your yard is of course. Hope I helped and play safe! (If you need any more help or tips, feel free to contact me by email!)

Depends on how serious you are. If your playing in a sponsored event (look up Badkarma airsoft and Lionsclaw) they usually have set limits somewhere near 400-425 with .25 as the MAX fps for anything fullauto. If your just playing backyard cqc with some buddies I'd advise under 350fps. Try to stay in a set fps limit with your friends as well. If everyone is using 300fps guns and you outclass them by 100fps they may get mad.

120 fps sucks. you should be around 280-450. these are good ranges that are accurate. 120 fps you wont even feel.
