How do you kick a kickball far?

How do you kick a kickball straight and low on the ground?

  • I just joined an adult co-ed kickball league and every kick I do goes up for an easy out fly-ball. Please help, I am embarrassing myself!!!

    Easiest way to correct this quickly is, don't kick it "soccer" style. You are probably sweeping your foot under the ball and getting good contact with the whole top of your foot. This is good, but until you get a little more ball control, you may want to avoid this style. A "toe kick" method will solve this for you immediately. The video link I added below shows the "straight on" or "toe kicking" method. I know it's for a football field goal, but just imagine it's a kickball. You don't want to your toes to contact the bottom of the kick ball. You want to aim dead center, maybe just a tad above dead center, to keep your kick being a "grounder" instead of a "fly ball". Kick the ball in the middle, like where it's belly button would be. You MUST wear good leather shoes for toe kicks. Obviously, if you were wearing open toe sandals, you would hurt your toes.

I havent played kickball in a while, but i remember when i was in elementary i liked to kick a ball that was a little bouncy. When kicking i keep my foot pointed out and flat, like a ballerina keeps her legs and feet straight. So you are basicly using the flat part on top your shoes. I dont like to use the tip of my toe cause it hurts and i think of my foot as a shovel and its like im scooping the ball up. I say just keep your leg and foot straight and just blast that ball.
