How do I replace the line on my Zebco spincast reel?

Does it affect putting a spincast reel on a spinning reel.?

  • I have a Shakespeare ugly stick medium action rod and I put my zebco 808 spincast on it would it be fine?

  • Answer:

Spinning rods aren't supposed to bend with the guides pointing up... stresses the blank. But then again, you are talking about an Ugly Stik.

You mean- putting a Spincast reel on a Spinning ROD? A Spinning rod is not designed to bend "backward"- like GMB points out (TU's)- it causes stress on the blank and will cause your guides to come apart from the rod, (and eventually break). (Try bending the rod backward and watch the guides start pulling apart from the rod!) Most importantly, to any other mildly aware fishermen you will appear as a "dummkopf", "retardo", "debile", Etc. - lol Seriously, if you don't catch anything big, you'll be fine, however, if you DO catch something of size your guides could pop off the blank.
