How do you hold a bass or fish on hook?

    Well as soon as you get them out of the water you should support them under the belly, not hold them up by your hook. (so they are basically in the way that they would swim...lengthways...not up and down) Get the hook out as soon as possible and with as little damage as possible (use barb-less hooks if you can) Keep them out of the water for as little time as you can...to take a photo or whatever... When putting them back..if it is a big fish that you have fought for a long time you can 'swim' it. Hold it by the mouth in the water and pull it forward as if it was swimming...this gets water through its gills and helps it recover. Watch some fishing TV shows and see how they practise "catch and release"

wet your hands first,then put the thumb of your hand inside the fishes lower jaw,and pinch.that's it good luck fishing it's good.

hold it with both hands under the belly or if you get a big one you put 3 fingers up through the gills and put your hands up towards the mouth to hold it. You should only keep them out of the water for about 2-3mins max and put them back in generally i just keep them out of the water long enough to get the hook out. I should be ok if you drop it in the dirt and then put it back in the water right away

Hold your Bass and Crappie by the lowe lip of there mouth, a perch you can hold them in the center of there body, try not to get to much slime off there body it protects them from infection, fish can stay out of water only a very short time, release them as soon as possible if you drop them in the dirt and there not hurt to bad, just put them back in the water hold them by your hand and push the water through there gills by moveing them slowly back and forth in the water till they swim from your hands.
