Which rod should I get for fly fishing?

I would like some advise on what kind of Fishing pole and Fishing rod I should get for bass and trout fishing?

    Bravo Fisher_King! Best answer I've saw in a long time ... I actually have one of the President reels that he suggested and they are AWESOME! I am not a big spender on my fishing reels and rods (however I would be if I had the extra cash!) and the Pflueger President is the best spinning reel out there for under $100. STAY AWAY from Abu spinning reels. I own one and it's pretty much JUNK. It's very wobbly on the retrieve, the reel feels cheap, the innards are ALL PLASTIC, and the reel handle frequently loosens up to the point of the handle falling off all together while fishing... St. Croix's Triumph series must be a great rod. It is made by MY FAVORITE rod manufacturer, St. Croix. Medium action should do quite well for a trout/bass hybrid rod & reel! Even though I'd MUCH prefer two rods & reels for trout and bass you can "get by" with one SOLID medium action rod and reel. Once again best answer should go to F_K along with a thumbs up... EDIT : Also, another reel you could quite possibly look at would be the Shimano Spirex... It's the same price as the President. I don't own one of the Spirex's but they seem like good reels from the reviews. The double handle and blueish/metallic color drawed me in quite easily ...

For 120 bucks you have loads of options. If I had to suggest one brand it would no doubt be Abu Garcia. I've used their products for years and will keep doing the same. They have setups anywhere from 30 dollar spinning setups up to 200 dollar baitcasting setups. You probably first want to decide on whether you're wanting a baitcasting reel or spincast reel. For the baitcast (especially if you're just starting out using them) there's a really line called the Black Max Series. I've seen them for 60 bucks although I don't necessarily like the rods they come equipped with. I bought the Black Max series reel by itself for around 50 then bought a 6'6 medium heavy Abu rod for 40. It's a really cheap setup but they are great setups. If you're looking for a higher end baitcast setup or reel, check out the Abu Garcia Revo. I own 2 of them and they are very nice and versatile. I've slow rolled spinnerbaits, cranked in swimbaits, jig fished, etc etc all on this reel and did great.

Yeah, for that money, you have lots of choices. If I had to have one rod and reel for both kinds of fishing, it would have to be a spinning combo. In fact for that money I could have an ultra light spinning combo and a medium to medium-heavy spinning outfit. Try the clearance section of Cabelas.
