  • Answer:

My son had this same problem. I read about it and learned it could be a tic. It's actually common for toddlers to develop a tic like this then grow out of it. It ended up that my sons problem was not a tic. In preschool they had an eye exam and discovered that he needed to see an eye doctor. I took him and he had astigmatism and needed glasses.

could be a tic, could be allergies bothering her eyes a bit, or could be that maybe her vision isn't great and is just experimenting. Like above, give it a day or two and if it keeps up, have his doc take a look.

Maybe she thinks it's fun? I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's not! My daughter is 15 months old and just started batting her eyelashes to look cute, and when someone does it back she thinks it's a riot. On the other hand, with my daughter it is obvious that she does it on purpose and for a reaction. If it looks like your daughter can't control it, or doesn't know she's doing it, mention it to your doctor next time.

It could be that she is under lots of stress. Take her out to the playground, give her a soothing bath. Help her relax. If this doesn't help, take her to the doctor. She might need glasses.
