Money and banking question?

Banking question how can an atm machine not give you the right amount of money.?

  • Answer:

It can for those reasons: The machine has run out of money... look at your receipt and it will tell you that you wanted x-amount but the machine dispensed a lesser amount. Usually immediately after that the machine goes "out of order" and displays an error code on it's screen. This only happens at convenience store ATMs because they aren't loaded with a whole lot to begin with. Transaction failed for non sufficient funds.... this message on your receipt means you don't have enough in the account to get that much cash out. You hear a strange noise... and the machine shortens you a bill or two... immediately notify the bank or whoever owns that machine.... it means that your bill is stuck somewhere inside the mechanism. In rare circumstances... the ATM will dispense too much money. Usually when they load it with brand new bills that like to stick together. But be careful: Bank ATM will be able to trace the mismatch back to the right account and simply charge you for the additional bill a week later...
