Where can I get short term car insurance for someone age 17?

I'm not sure what you mean by short term, but each state sets the minimum time period for a car insurance policy. Most companies won't write it for less than six months, as the earned premium won't cover the administrative costs. Best thing to do, is have a parent add you to their policy as a driver. If you're BUYING a car, you have to buy the policy for the minimum time period in your state, and when you sell the car, you cancel the policy and pay the cancellation fees.
