How much do I charge for a brochure?

Does anyone know how much to charge for graphic design work for, 1) logo 2) brochure and 3) collateral?

  • Answer:

I am a graphic designer and I am currently doing freelance. When you are setting your prices, it depends on who your clients will be. For instance, I am in college and most of the flyers and photography that I complete is for college students. Due to this, I have altered my prices so it can be affordable for them.

A fully professional freelancer who can do it all, with minimal guidance, can ask for $50 or more an hour without prompting a blink from any large client in most parts of the United States. But I have to agree with flare's comment. You have to gauge your hourly rate by the known resources of your client. I know people who have priced themselves out of the ballpark on a small job, mainly because they were going in with thoughts of charging going rates, when their client was a mom and pop who wouldn't think twice about outsourcing the job to Kinko's or their nephew who is pretty handy with Corel Draw, if you know what I mean, for a smallish flat fee. If you really want the work, you must take things like this into account.
