Yes it should. French people view it as Americans view July 4th. My wife was born and raised in France. I have been in France on Bastille Day and it is always celebrated with fireworks and concerts. It's a big production. One of my the highlights of recent trip to France for my family was celebrating Bastille Day in Honfleur in Normandy.
