Wow there are so many! Depending what kinds of things you are into, there are lots of themes which can work well with a boy girl party -Hollywood is a good one for a boy girl party, and I love this theme, it works so well! You can either get each guest to dress up as someone from hollywood or set the party as a formal party, meaning girls wear dresses and guys were tux's. For this you could hire out a hall, which normally costs around $100-$300. For the music, you would be best hiring a DJ I would say. They normally charge around $100 per hour, but I'm sure if you searched around you could compare prices to get the best deal. The DJ will normally ask you for a list of songs, you could play old classics like Elvis, Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby, Marilyn Munroe etc. A great song that got people in the mood was ''Twist and Shout'' from Ferris Beuler's day off. Play these for the beginning of the party so guests feel like they are in Hollywood, and you could later play your choice of music- for getting people up to dance new music is probably best. For the food, you could make a lot of it yourself. Snacks like popcorn would be great, chocolate covered strawberries, maybe a chocolate fountain? And for more savoury foods, think cocktail party. Small food is best for a party like this. You could just have finger foods like finger sandwiches, nachos, pizza. This could be served on a Clapperboard tray. Roughly $3. When my friend had her hollywood themed party she had a ''Conscession Stand''. This was just a table set up which had popcorn, assorted candies, sodas, pretzels etc. She managed to get the cardboard popcorn containers which looked great from Shindigz (maybe an idea?) For drinks, you can serve classic mocktails as people there will be under age. A mocktail is just a non- alchoholic cocktail. Some great ones would be a Root Beer float, Shirley Temple, Soda Shop Cola, Roy Rogers, Berry Sweetheart, Apricot gingerini and many more. Or maybe sparkling juice so it looks like champagne. In terms of decorating the hall, red, black and gold is a great colour scheme. You can get Hollywood enterances and arches on Shindigz, these look great but can sometimes be very expensive. You can hire a red carpet and roll it out at the enterance, they cost roughly $50 to hire but again depending where you go. Hang streamers from the cielings and balloons too. You will probably need to hang the Hollywood Sign somewhere too, but this can easily be made. For the table wear, you could use a deep red or black table cloth you could put a gold statue trophy on each table ( they cost about $3) or have them here and there. You can also buy lifesize cut outs of Marilyn Munroe, Elvis, etc. which look great for about $10. For invitations Shindigz have ones which look great! Or you could make your own. Some other themes: -Las Vegas themed party -Black and White Party -Masquerade Ball -Greek themed (toga party) Great fun! -Cinderella theme -Alice In Wonderland -Beach themed -Casino -Winter Wonderland (depending when the party is) -A neon themed party -Retro party( this includes 1950's, 60's, 70, & 80's) -Super Hero Party -Morrocan theme -Fairy tales -Disney themed Good luck planning your night & have a great time!!
