  Take the tube, not the bus, it's easier. There's a tube station at the basement of the Louvre museum. Do what Cabal told you, take the line 1, direction La Défense. Change at Charles de Gaulle Étoile, take line 6 direction Nation, get off at Dupleix. Then walk down rue Viala and you'll arrive to your hotel. If you ever get lost, finding your hotel is rather easy, look where the Eiffel tower is, if you walk towards the river Seine, you'll see the Eiffel tower and if you walk down by the quays of the river, you'll arrive very close to your hotel. Once you arrive to Dupleix tube station, which is aerial, not underground, you can ask to people around the way to rue St Charles or to rue Viala, both streets are well known at the neighbourhood, just in case, print a plan of the streets around your hotel. It's a very safe neighbourhood though in Paris, pickpockets are never too far. Don't trust 100% the indications of ratp.fr or transilien.com, they're far from perfect, always check in a real plan of the tube. Once in Paris, you can buy a plan of the streets, it costs 5€, a little book with all the streets listed and one page per district, it's similar to the London A to Z.
