Does anyone know of any festivals in Paris?

Anyone know anything about Montparnasse Paris?

  • Looking to stay on Paris for a few days soon, anyone know if Montparnasse area of Paris is nice? Close to attractions such as Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Opera...??? ...show more

  • Answer:

Montparnasse is not a tourist area, it is the terminal of the railways covering the south of France and is a transit area, in the south area of Paris. It is not that pretty, but it is clean, next to a busy boulevard with cinemas and brasseries and next as well to a small area of old streets, cafés and theatres, and creperies (Brittany pancakes). in easy walking range on the other side of the boulevard. It is also at a crossroad of the metro lines and has plenty of bus lines. Paris is a very compact city and the touristy areas are in reach of Montparnasse by metro, a 15mn ride most of the time. So no, you won't be next to the attractions, but you will be in easy reach. And if you want to take a taxi it seats at a crossroad of boulevards so easy to drive there. I also recommand the ride up the tower (the only skyscraper in Paris) to see the whole city at your feet. If you have the money for it, you can have dinner at the Ciel de Paris a few floors below the top and see Paris by night.
