When is the Pyrotechnics Festival?

Should pyrotechnics be less restricted??

• Pyrotechnics and fireworks etc. are very restricted and stuff... should they not be?

  The answer lies not in the dangers of fireworks or their entertainment value, but in the discipline and character of our people. I advocate for freedoms of every nature, preferring to be at risk of my own folly rather than protected from it by regulation. Yet, I fear our populace has passed a tipping point where we are - as a group - incapable of being responsible for our own actions. We've been nannied and overseen so long that most folks don't know how to be careful -- we've always been protected by government. So -- IF people can be "retrained" to be responsible for their own behaviors, I believe fireworks (and many other "dangerous" things) should be permitted to be owned and used by ordinary people. Let's again stand on our own feet, our own skills, and our own strengths. Perhaps it is by allowing people to pursue risky activities that we regain the skills to deal with them. Yes! Stop restricting fireworks so much. Allow our children to learn the joys of a good "boom" on the 4th! Every freedom we lose is one we'll likely never retrieve. LLoyd
