Depends whether you watch tv or play Playstation more. Your sat receiver may have a coaxial output that will allow you to get 5.1 surround sound from it (generally an orange plug, looks like a standard rca). Also HDMI carries 5.1 surround so you can use that if your home theater supports it you can hook up your PS3 that way. Your options are going to be a bit limited, but here are a couple of examples, if you really want to look into it http://www.hifiguides.com/ www.transcable.com/, www.ecocables.co/, are some of the famous websites which provides all details through online. Have a look on that. TOSLINK or Optical Cable is a standardized optical fiber connection system. Its most common use is in consumer audio equipment (via a "digital optical" socket), where it carries a digital audio stream from components such as MiniDisc, CD and DVD players, DAT recorders, and modern video game consoles, to an AV receiver that can decode the stream of audio and output it through a set of loudspeakers. Although TOSLINK supports several different media formats and physical standards, digital audio connections using the rectangular EIAJ/JEITA RC-5720 (also CP-1201 and JIS C5974-1993 F05) connector are by far the most common. The wavelength used is 650 nm.

I have a Intel Motherboard..DG45ID..it has integrated audio and I'm useing my old TOSLINK..Fiber Optic Cable..from like 5-years ago.. They were 30-dollars back then..I think they cost 10-bucks now-a-days.. The Fiber Optic Cable comes in 3-foot sections..I use a Splice Adapter to attach 2-Fiber Optic cables INLINE..for 6-feet/ ..outside of that dimension..I don't really know what might happen.. If you turn the PC..around..your Fiber Optic connection point will have a small trap door//its a springy thing.. You just push the TOSLINK--to snap it in-place.. There should be a very bright RED Light emitting from the PORT--when its activated.. Its a good CHECK--looking at the end of your connected Fiber Optic Cable--there should be a very bright RED Light emitting from its end.. Look for info..I use TOSLINK...have for many years.
