How do I get surround sound for TV and PS3?

  I had this problem for forever and I hope this helps you with it. First make doubly sure you surround sound speakers are connected and work. There should be a test you can perform to make sure of that. Next, take an AV cable and connect it to the 1st port in the back of the surround sound. You only need the Red and White cords connected. Take the other end and connect them to the first AV port in your TV. The HDMI from your PS3 should be connected in HDMI port 1 in the back of the TV. Turn both on and switch your surround sound to AUX mode and put you're TV on mute. This may or may not work for you but I do have two other ways. 1. You can buy an HDMI Switcher and connect one HDMI from your PS3 and Surround sound into it then another HDMI cable from the switcher to your TV. I know this works but you may have trouble playing online if you are using a Router. 2. If you have an HDMI IN port on the back of your Surround Sound Reciever just hook your PS3 to it an then your Reciever to the TV. This also works but again you may have trouble detecing a Router signal when connected this way and I'm currently having problems with it but at least you'll have 1080p video and surround sound through your PS3.
