Digital TV and recording with a VCR?

I went out and bought one of those converter boxes so my TV will be able to receive digital signal from my outside antenna. But now i can't record on my VCR. Use to i could watch one ...show more

The box comes first then the VCR is between tht and the TV. I don't know how those boxes are set up though. If it has multiple tuners in it then you can record one and watch another like you use to. If it is just a basic translation device it should do the same thing. However, if it is the actual tuner itself and your TV will remain on channel 3 all of the time like with cable and satelite then you are in the same boat as the rest of the world is now. They have made the VCR worthless. If that is the case then you will need to get 2 converters for your TV so you can use one to record with your VCR and the other to watch TV with. Banjo
