Why won't my computer connect to the internet?

My computer wont connect to the internet even though the wireless router is on. why ?

    Just because you can connect to your wireless network through you router, doesn't mean internet access is available. The modem must be receiving a signal that is connected to the router. Best bet is to unplug the modem and router, then wait 30 secs... plug the modem back in, wait 20 secs, then plug in the modem make sure all lights blink on the router.. .if not, you''ve got a loose cable somewhere or the internet isp is having "outages"

you have to go into computer settings on the computer and type in your internet code make sure all the cables are plunged in (there usually is a yellow cord that plugs into your router and then into the back of your computer through a usb)
