1st of all you need to install iTunes on your PC or laptop. Then connect your iPad with your PC. You will see instructions. Most important thing is 1) you need Internet connection. 2) You need a good configure Laptop or desktop with os windows xp or letter / Mac. 3)unlock iPod. Original Datacable will be better for upgrade. (Do it with your own RISK)

Connect to PC, open itunes. Click on update. If you are connected on WiFi, Click on Settings, go to General, then click on the 2nd item down on the right "Software Update".

Connect your iPad to a laptop/computer using the charger that comes with it (Take out the usb part from the plug) and load up iTunes, go to your iPad's settings and there should be a button there to update your iPad Sorry I have an iPhone and this is what I do :)
