How can I install MSN on Linux?

Can somebody how to install yahoo messenger or msn messenger on Ubuntu Linux?

    I suggest you use a native Ubuntu LInux program like Empathy or Pidgin, instead of trying to install Windows clients into a Linux system (will not work). Antonia: Again, Windows programs DO NOT work in Linux, so your advice will not work at all. Linux systems don't even have a "registry", which is the root cause of many problems in Windows in the first place.

Are you trying to install Windows programs in Linux? That will not work. If you look in the Applications > Internet tab of Ubuntu, see if "Empathy IM Client" will connect to either or both.

Ununtu uses a program called Pidgin for yahoo and a program called ASM for msn messenger. You install these through the package management program called synaptic. You may be using a Ubuntu version that has a control panel. You should be able to install software from there.

yahoo messenger and MSN messenger are Windows programs, not Linux ones. You either need to use a Linux chat program (e.g. pidgin or gaim or one of hundreds of others... or use wine (a Windows Emulator) so MSN thinks it is running on a WIndows box. Or of course you could install a virtual windows machine if you have a license for Windows...
