How do I properly print transparencies?

Can I use a laser printer to print on overhead transparencies?

  • I have a presentation to do for my English class, one of my classmates is selling extra overhead transparencies. He said that the label said the sheets were for inkjet printers, so ...show more

  • Answer:

I have often used transparencies with laser printers, but have not tried inkjet. I would assume ink is the harder of the 2 because the surface would have to be absorbent for the ink to not run off. The laser melts the toner on, so the only problem would be if it was heat sensitive and melted. I suppose if it does not say it is good also for lasers, you might want to pass. Transparencies are cheap, and you don't want to gum up the roller with a melted transparency. Although I think the odds are it would be ok.
