What are some vista compatible printers?

Can't the cd of the printers for installation purpose of XP not work in VISTA?

    THE INSTALL cd contains drivers & any additional s/w u may need for handling the special features in the printer or scanner. So if the printer is an old model the vista drivers may not have been developed at the time it was released. (no vista then) This is the reason u r unable to install the drivers or it gives errors during install. Look at the HP website , if u look under downloads the latest drivers may be avilable. or do a google with model no. Also any additional s/w will be provided. Note . better if u give model no.

It depends on the drive. I mean it could be compatible but it may not. The best thing to do is to go to the manufacturers website and download the latest driver from there.
