HDMI cable is a DVI cable (video) with sound.. If it doesn't provide sound thats because the graphics card should be connected to sound card (most of those are usually build in to laptops), And the GPU should have its own HDMI slot. If you used an adapter for example it obviously doesnt provide sound. in that case try to use an audio cable like this. http://www.ust.hk/itsc/classroom/notebook/photo/cable_audio_pc.jpg (this one should be connected to the laptop headphones slot, and the other two im sure u will figure out, where (near the S-Video Cable))
