what is the difference between beryl and compiz fusion? i dont use ubuntu yet but im considering it. also is beryl or compiz fusion included in ubuntu??

There where originally 2 seperate projects. Beryl and Compiz. Both of them basically did the same thing. Then not so long ago the two merged into 1 project and became Compiz Fusion. Ubuntu uses Compiz Fusion.

As far as I can tell Beryl was an early (read unstable) version of Compiz. I have Compiz running on my desktop and its fine, and I installed it with Synaptic on Hardy Heron.
