  If it's the same pattern as the previous kindle releases, it should be either last quarter of 2011 or (more likely) first quarter of 2012. The "rumors" are that it will have either a color screen, touchscreen or both. Personally, the kindle 3 is so awesome I wouldn't wait if your in the market - as the kindle has good resale value. I resold my kindle 2 for nearly the purchase price I paid when I upgraded to the k3 :).
