GPRS and 3G both are network for accessing internet over mobile device using the SIM card. The speed of GPRS is quite less as compared to the 3G Network. GPRS and 3G are just different types of Communication Protocols. 3G is new and offers incredible features (not to forget 21mbps internet speeds) You'll have to check if your cell phone is capable of 3G.

GPRS which is something related to net access on your phone.. whereas 3G related to speed or bandwidth.. for eg : with 2G if u go in bus ull get signal but in train u won get signal u cannot hear the voice of other person because train moves faster... but with 3G (increase speed or bandwidth ) u can get clear signal and can hear the voice from other side :)
