Answer:
Use your iPod to transfer songs to your computer: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173 One feature that iTunes offers you is to restore the iPod. Restoring the iPod is a slightly misleading name in that restoring actually means deleting all the content on your iPod and starting over. Restoring your iPod is sometimes the only way to do what you want (like use your iPod on multiple computers or on both a Mac and a PC) or to solve some difficult problems. This is a step-by-step guide on how to restore the iPod. NOTE: Before you restore your iPod, though, make sure everything on your iPod is backed up somewhere else. http://ipod.about.com/od/restoreandreformatipod/ss/restore_ipod.htm The Complete Guide to Backing Up iPod & iTunes Music; http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/the-complete-guide-to-backing-up-ipod-and-itunes-music/ How to Restore iPod to Factory Settings; http://ipod.about.com/od/restoreandreformatipod/ss/restore_ipod.htm Start your research here; http://www.google.com/search?q=Ipod%20factory%20settings&sourceid=groowe&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 http://www.google.com/search?q=back%20up%20ipod&sourceid=groowe&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 Make it a great day!

There is actually a way to do this. Go to Itunes website and go to help. When I bought a new computer it definately gave me an option to do that. However, if you plug your Ipod into your computer everything on it will erase so don't plug it in until you have the directions.

I would expect that your music library is still there. You cannot transfer your music from your iPod to iTunes (except using third party software). Search for it on your PC, and if you find it, then add the folder that it is in into iTunes. If you have for any reason lost your iTunes library, then you are in a bit of a pickle, and will need to download some software to restore it from your iPod. People have asked about this before.

your iPod isnt programmed for you to do that. my suggestion is that you should manually manage your music, that way you dont have to reupload all of your music. then whenever you want to add something new all you have to do it drag and drop. and that also helps to clear some space on your computer because it just keeps your music on you iPod without having to be on your computer. this also means you can take other peoples music easily, like from a friends computer or a family members.

THe itunes library will always update your ipod with whatever is in the library. You have to add all of your songs that you had previously to your library, and then you can update your ipod.
