What kind of cord do I need to watch videos from PC to TV?
-
If I wanted to watch a movie on the TV instead of my computer screen.
-
Answer:
HDMI on both ends would carry video and audio (sound). For any other connection, you would either use whatever speakers your computer has, or connect separate audio cable. Just as good would be DVI both ends or DVI to HDMI cable (which I am using). Sound would be separate. VGA can look just as good when properly adjusted, but may not be quite as automatic for sizing, centering, optimum resolution. Sound would be separate. Works well for my laptop, which only has VGA.

That all depends on the PC and TV involved. If both are new enough, a HDMI cable would be your best option.
