Sony Vega Digital TV model KD-28DX50 U won't switch on - standby light just flashes on and off!?

Sony Vega Digital TV model KD-28DX50 U TV will not switch on. The standby light flashes on and off. Power to TV is OK. Anyone got any ideas on what's happened?

I had the same problem with my goodmans....... Im hoping ur insured coz they will just replace it not fix it! its either been damaged in transit or elswhere coz its not turning on. Phone the repair man in from the company u got it from, tell him to bring a new telly with him! coz mine took 1 month for a new one, one month without sky!!!!!!! killed me!............................. I had to go to the pub for the matches............. eventually costing more than the telly was worth!
