Culturally, what constitutes a sellout in racial terms?

I think it is completely ridiculous to assume that race guarantees anyone a particular perspective, stance or set of experiences. People should do what they believe is right, and not attach themselves to any one group because of a circumstance of birth. There is no one side vs. another in the world of sane tolerant people.

For most people its someone who dates outside of their race who will also complain about why the world is so obsessed with race when they are obsessed with it themselves. But I do agree that selling out is mostly when someone claims to stand for something for a while or who has a certain style for a while and then changes it simply for profit. Not to try new things but because they know they will get some sort of social or economic gain. Sort of like Shakira did with her last album. When she released give it up to me I knew she had sold out because it is very much american mainstream pop and nothing like her earlier work. I knew it was done for making money and hitting it big and not to explore new horizons. @ Noname needed how is she a sellout? Ive seen the asker stand up for you guys a lot. Personally, someone is a sellout when they feel shame in the racial group they belong to. They agree and only see the bad aspect of their race. For example, let's take a black man who agrees with the idea that black people are prone to crime and are not attractive. In this example, he is promoting the idea of a bad stereotype while he himself is black. Sellouts are basically appeasing to another group because they are ashamed or have been "tricked" into believing a bad stereotype of their own people.

To me a sellout is; Someone who believes in something strongly but goes mainstream because of everyone else they are not doing what they like but what the public likes. Whatever.Everyone is mixed if you go back centuries.Why the fuss now? Get over yourselves people.Do you have that much time on your hands?
