How To Prepare A Resume?

How should I prepare for the 'Software Engineer' interview? I don't  know the possibility of my resume to  get selected among 100's and 100' s of resume. Is there any key to make my resume special to recruiters?

  Hello. Thank you for asking me.  Interesting that you should ask this, as it was just two days ago that I had a professional resume writing company critique my resume, and I then asked my consultant the exact same question: how do I make my resume stand out? Should I fold it, put it on coloured paper, wrap it around a wine bottle, attach a $50 bill to it??  lol  No. Her answer was simple...she said just a straightforward cover letter, and a one-page resume, highlighting your skills relevant to that position, that can be scanned and read in 30 seconds or less.  (That being said, I still will put a few resumes on paper that isn't the standard bright white, just to see if they garner more attention)
