It will cost you 3 times more to have them build you a bike. Of course the shop will help you, they not only make more profit on the parts they also make a bunch in labor to put it together for you. It's much cheaper to buy one assembled.

Building any bicycle from scratch will cost at least twice as much if not 3 times as much as buying one already assembled - period. Bad idea unless you just have $$$ to burn. In that case - float me a loan - will ya?
